Here are some of the partners with whom I’ve collaborated over the years. Many are now ex-patriots of the Bay Area, and work as virtual extensions or have opted to stay local and build their own companies.
ART DIRECTORS
Jane is a long-time creative partner of mine who has traded her digs in Silicon Valley for 40 acres and a mule in Big Sky country. I have to admit, though, she’s even more creative and productive from her mountain studio than ever...must be the clear air, or the heavy metals in the copper mine tailings nearby.
Rich is another long-time creative partner who has spent his internet fortune on an amazing house in Chico and an almond (ammond if you’re a local) ranch. Still, he’s another one of those ex-patriots who has set up a great design practice from a cool office in a homey downtown.
Mike is a fantastic blend of old and new schools. Having learned directly from masters like Saul Bass and Lee Clow, you definitely get great concepts and implementation. Plus Mike is a dedicated new school video guy leveraging his t.v. production experience and his laptop to create a contemporary class of video for the web and beyond.
MOTION GRAPHICS
Gus is a creative motion graphics guy who is about as creative as they come. As he likes to say, his passion is making great noises and pictures. He does a pretty good job of integrating the two as well.
Dave is one of those guys whose work has defined motion graphics over the past ten years. If you’ve ever walked into an Apple Store you’ve seen his work pumping and vibing behind the Genius bar and the Studio counter.
“Z” is a great web and Flash designer. She adds something special every time we work on a concept.
A quiet but prodigious guy, Ming focuses on interactivity in t.v. and web based marketing. He’s won quite a few awards for his work and is the only guy I know personally who has won an Emmy.
WEB ENGINEERING
A great personality as well as a brilliant graduate of Cal Tech who traded Space Imaging at JPL for the wide open spaces of the mountain states. Chris can do it all extremely well from front end to back end integration. In his spare time he volunteers his expertise to the Global Clearinghouse.
Entrepreneurial and talented as an engineer, “X” can get it done. Currently a partner at Span Strategies, he’s built a great team who can design and build.
One of the top engineering minds from the CKS juggernaut, Trevor has built an extremely capable new company focused on industrial strength websites.
Tim founded his latest company based on an absolutely cool “On Demand” content engine. He’s one of those supremely personable guys with whom to work and has plugged in his Autovod platform into quite a few nice companies.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
That old saying, “If you can keep your head when all those about you are losing theirs...” should have a picture of Peggy right next to it. She’s calm, cool, collected and will keep any project, on task and on schedule.
